Date: 07–08 May 2016

As part of its commitment to promoting voluntary blood donation and strengthening community healthcare, Help Foundation, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (Vindhyanagar), Yuva Team Singrauli, Aapada Prabandhan Team Singrauli, and Mishra Polyclinic, Waidhan, organised a Blood Donation Awareness Rally and Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on 7th and 8th May 2016 at Waidhan, District Singrauli.

The two-day campaign commenced with a large-scale public awareness rally through the major streets and marketplaces of Waidhan. Volunteers, youth leaders, healthcare professionals, social workers, students, and local citizens participated enthusiastically, carrying banners and placards promoting the message of “Donate Blood, Save Lives.” The rally aimed to educate the public about the life-saving importance of voluntary blood donation while dispelling common myths and misconceptions associated with donating blood.

Throughout the rally, participants raised awareness about the constant need for safe blood in hospitals to support accident victims, emergency surgeries, maternal healthcare, cancer treatment, and patients suffering from blood disorders. The campaign encouraged healthy individuals to become regular voluntary blood donors and emphasised that one unit of donated blood has the potential to save multiple lives.

Following the awareness rally, a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organised under the supervision of qualified medical professionals. Prospective donors underwent medical screening, blood pressure and haemoglobin testing, eligibility assessment, and counselling before donating blood. The entire donation process was conducted in accordance with standard medical safety and hygiene protocols to ensure the well-being of both donors and recipients.

Help Foundation volunteers actively coordinated the event by assisting with donor registration, guiding participants throughout the donation process, organising awareness activities, and motivating first-time donors to contribute towards this humanitarian cause. The campaign also highlighted the importance of building a sustainable culture of voluntary blood donation to maintain adequate blood reserves throughout the year.

The event witnessed strong participation from community members, youth organisations, healthcare institutions, and public representatives, demonstrating the collective commitment of the Singrauli community towards saving lives through voluntary blood donation. The collaborative effort strengthened partnerships among civil society organisations and inspired greater public participation in future health initiatives.

Through this initiative, Help Foundation reaffirmed its mission of promoting public health, encouraging community service, and fostering a culture of compassion, social responsibility, and humanitarian action.
