As part of its commitment to improving rural healthcare and promoting preventive health practices, Help Foundation organised a two-day Health Awareness Workshop at Chitrangi Tehsil, District Singrauli on 18th and 19th December 2015. The programme focused on creating awareness about the prevention, early identification, and management of common health conditions affecting rural communities.

The workshop brought together local residents, women, adolescents, children, community leaders, and frontline health workers. Health educators explained the causes, symptoms, treatment, and preventive measures related to diarrhoea, anaemia, typhoid, and other water- and food-borne diseases in simple and practical ways.

A major focus of the programme was on promoting:

  • Safe drinking water and household water purification.
  • Personal hygiene and proper handwashing practices.
  • Sanitation and clean surroundings.
  • Nutritional awareness to prevent anaemia.
  • Early identification of symptoms and timely medical care.
  • ORS preparation and its use in preventing dehydration.
  • Safe food handling and hygienic cooking practices.

The programme encouraged active participation through group discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and practical demonstrations. Participants were also encouraged to share the information with their families and neighbours, helping extend the impact of the awareness campaign within the wider community.

The initiative contributed to improving health awareness and encouraging preventive healthcare practices among rural families in Chitrangi Tehsil. It reflected Help Foundation’s continued commitment to strengthening community health, promoting health literacy, and supporting sustainable rural development through education and awareness.
